Our farm and homestead

Elk Valley Acres is first and foremost our home. It is where our three children are coming of age. It is where we are blossoming into parents of those wonderful humans. It is where we find our spiritual well replenished again and again. Our cup truly runneth over. We try to share and multiply that abundance in everything we create here on the farm.

Scott has been hard at work since 2019 nurturing our piece of paradise. He cleared a quarter acre of dead, standing cedar in order to make our first terraced garden. He developed springs and cared for the soil. He dug holes and planted plants, season after season. We learned about chickens and added a modest flock to our family. We invested in solar panels and a pond. We added a lower terraced garden to make room for more flowers. Our hopes for the land have shifted over time but our motivation and dedication remain steady.

The photographs below represent a glimpse of our successes. They are only moments in time and the space between is filled with exactly what you might imagine, complete with missteps, mistakes, meltdowns and more! Isn’t life grand?!
